What You Agree to When You Use This Tool

By using the image checker you accept these terms. They exist because even a small free tool needs its expectations written down.

No warranty on verdicts, and not an accessibility audit

The report applies mechanical rules to the HTML as served: whether an alt attribute exists, whether it looks like a filename, how large the file is and what format it really is. It cannot judge whether a description is accurate or sufficient, cannot see images added by JavaScript, and covers one of the many WCAG success criteria. A clean report means those rules passed, not that the page is accessible or compliant with any law. The tool is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind, and its operator isn't liable for losses that follow from using it.

Your responsibilities

Use the tool lawfully. Check pages you are allowed to inspect; a public page is public, but the responsibility for what you do with the findings stays with you. Don't abuse, overload or automate the fetch endpoint beyond normal interactive use, and don't use this service to probe systems you don't own or administer. A URL check fetches the page and up to forty of its images from the site you name; keep that in mind before checking pages you do not run.

Caps and fair use

A check reads at most 2.5 MB of HTML and probes at most forty images, six at a time, within a time budget of about forty seconds. Those limits are what keeps the tool free and the origin shared with other sites usable; they are not negotiable per user, and scripting around them counts as abuse under the paragraph above.

Changes and contact

These terms may change as the tool evolves, and the effective date above moves when they do. Questions belong on the contact page. How data is handled is covered by the privacy policy.
